Brass (gender: masculine, element: Fire/minor association with Water) Brass is a metal of wealth through methods based more on chance than on hard labor. Because of it's connection to copper, it is a somewhat chaotic metal displaying traits of spontaneity and youth. Through this youthfulness, it also is a metal of healing and rejuvenation. Brass is a metal of the sun, and is often used in ritual when the call for gold is unable to be fulfilled.
According to a Greek-Hebrew Dictionary: Unpolished brass was the only metal allowed to make contact with the ground in the design of the Tabernacle in the wilderness, because unpolished brass represents the earthly nature of man.
Silver (gender: feminine, element: Water) The regal metal silver is deeply connected to the moon and magics that encompass it. As a result, silver is one of the most versatile metals of all. Divination, dreams, wealth, love, healing, protection, wisdom, emotion, and luck all fall under the energies of silver. Silver is also deeply connected to goddess deities and spirits being a very feminine metal. Additionally of all metals, silver is probably the most popular and widely used within Paganism. The only things that seems to be lacking with respect to silver are dark-natured aspects. Silver is the beacon of light in the darkness.
Silver aka (Keceph) implies wealth or something of value. The root word of keceph is kacaph which means to become pale. The implied meaning of kacaph is to pine after or long for with reverent fear. Therefore, silver symbolically means to fade from the old worldly nature (become pale) has great value.
